I’ve had some especially amazing weddings to photograph lately. I have so many pictures to share with you from recent weddings but I’m working on getting them published so I have to keep it short for now.
Sometimes I fall in love with a photo because the composition and expression create a powerful mood. This is one of those. :)

Stacy and Mark brought me to Mexico over the weekend to photograph their wedding. It was unbelievably beautiful. I’m still getting caught up but I had to post a preview!

Super quick blog post before I head to Mexico (more about that later). Lydia and Matt got married last weekend in the beautiful Lakefront Park in Prior Lake, MN. I had never been to the park but was blown away with the natural areas, ponds, and perfect fall colors. Here are a few highlights!
Lydia’s mother helping her with jewelry. Love these moments.
Married! Happiness.
Remember those natural areas I was talking about? You don’t find spots like this every day. Thanks to Lydia for being fearless in her dress!
Lakefront Park rocks. And so does this couple.
Smiles all day, especially while dancing.
Thank you, Matt and Lydia. You had a super fun wedding. I can’t wait to show you the rest!!
After part 1 of the wedding day (pictures here), we headed back to hotel at The Depot in downtown Minneapolis for a major costume change.
Jordan was stunning in her Vera Wang gown.
The bridesmaids are ready for round two.
This is why I love the “first look.”
This picture just screams happiness.
Time for some laughs with the bridesmaids before the ceremony.
Father and daughter moments before walking down the aisle. One of my favorite pictures to get.
Done with another beautiful ceremony.
These two were hiding out before their grand exit. Caught them kissing. Can you believe it?
Jordan expressing her excitement to some passerby.
The grand exit. The ceremony was held at Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church.
This is an absolute favorite. Such joy!
Taking off in their sweet 1956 Bentley, kissing for the crowd, church in the background, lens flare. Yep, this picture has it all.
These gentlemen clean up nicely. Had to give them a picture on the blog since the ladies already got one.
Relaxed, natural, and so happy.
Did I mention that The Depot is an incredible place for a wedding reception?
Stunning decoration.
A loving first dance. (If you look closely, you can see Brandon Sweet snapping a picture. He was shooting with me all day.)
What a grand place for a dance. This might be the best father & daughter dance photo I’ve taken.
Awesome bollywood dancing.
Dancing like a rock star.
Thank you, Jordan and Nathan. Your wedding was a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Many thanks to enormous efforts of wedding planner Kirsten Fischer.
i am blown away at how well you captured Jordan and Nathan's very spirits... i have goosebumps reliving the moments through your pictures. how lucky that they get to call you a dear friend. thank you so much for your talent and hard work for their wedding!!!
(09.16.10)I absolutely love that moment right before the father walks 'his' little girl down the aisle.... it's so poignant. This is the last moment she will be 'his little girl'... Well captured.

When Jordan and Nathan started explaining their plan to have a Hindu wedding ceremony and a Christian ceremony and a reception on the same day I knew it would be big. So big that one blog post cannot contain it. When they described the details of the Hindu ceremony my eyes grew wide. This was going to be awesome. And it was. Enjoy the images from the morning.
Who doesn’t love bangles?
Jordan getting a little help with her beautiful garments.
Jordan’s sari and shawl were incredibly ornate.
Nathan’s family arranging his sehra (strands of jewels and flowers) in preparation for the baraat (a celebration with music and dancing around the temple).
Nathan is led outside the temple to begin the baraat.
The Hindu ceremony was held at the beautiful Hindu Temple of Minnesota.
The baraat was a hit among the bridesmaids.
And family.
Even this horse was wearing its finest garments.
Nathan and Jordan’s fathers dancing.
Jordan’s mother placing the kunkum (red dot) on Nathan’s forehead.
Under the mandap (the structure on the stage), Nathan and Jordan are separated by the antarpat (a curtain). The removal of the curtain is symbolic of the removal of all feelings of separateness and joining of the two as one. Can you sense the anticipation from these two?
Nathan and Jordan wearing their garlands and enjoying the ceremony.
Flower petals are placed in the bride and groom’s hands.
Nathan and Jordan offer grains to the sacrificial fire.
Nathan leads Jordan in the saptapadi (seven steps), symbolizing the beginning of their journey through life as partners.
The bride’s family members traditionally steal the groom’s shoes and demand a ransom for their return. Apparently Nathan’s first offer is unsatisfactory. :)
All the bridesmaids wearing saris. They look ready to dance again.
Nathan and Jordan outside the temple at the end of a beautiful morning.
More to come from the Christian ceremony and reception!
